Your eyes can see a little more than 250 times as many points as are in a 1080p television.
the average human eye sees close to 576 megapixels, A 1080p TV has 2 megapixels.
And I'm sure the other 100 people in the world that have an entertainment system like that would buy blu-ray too. I would buy blu-ray if I had that system also. The fact of the matter is most people have a 25-40 inch tv with no surround sound at all. Does that really justify spending twice as much on discs when you can just buy a good upscaler that gets the job done and have a DVD that you can play on all yours and friend's existing hardware without upgrading?
I never said upscal...
An upscaler has just as many pixels as a blu-ray disc. It's just a matter of whether or not those pixels are original or calculated from the surrounding pixels.
a good upscaler can definately perform comparably to blu-ray. It's definately acceptable if you only have to pay 1/2-1/4 the price per disc.
dude... just wait till oranges are in season. You'll never even hear of apples anymore...
They aren't making them money NOW, but they're projections are a lot better than some of it's other divisions.
360 is breaking really close to even, and zune could if they redesigned it with a pricepoint that wasn't just $10 different than the comparably ipods. Microsoft just needs to understand that Apple's brand name is worth more than $10 when you're dealing with $100+.
just wait...
broken record much?
linux wouldn't be a great main stream OS. Because it's open source, it would be way too easy to hack. The benefit of windows is that it's closed. Once linux got a significant part of the market, it would be so easy to hack it would be ridiculous.
moving to the 360 is not a mistake. Making crappy games for the 360 is a mistake.
A lot of these games are either great concepts that are executed poorly, or just bad concepts in general.
The 360 doesn't make good games bad, the developers make them bad.
They released on Sony because they could make money off Sony. Just like the released on Nintendo before that, 360 now, and probably every platform from the end of this generation out.
Go on your PC, and queue up any and every movie you could even remotely want to watch or be even slightly entertained with.
I got the free trial yesterday, and I already have 30 movies I can queue up and watch instantly. I've been watching movies on it all day today. The service is great for 8 bucks a month on top of dvd deliveries (which offers the whole library if you find something you'll want to watch that isn't instant.
The instant watch library isn't awesome, b...
you bet they'd say it. It's hard to talk about being better than your competition and making great strides when your competition is doing better than you.
It also doesn't say much when the former dominator of the video game market gloats about just beating a console, who's predecessor sold something like 1/6th the sales of their former console, for second place. "Yea... we're getting our sh!t rocked, but at least we're beating the guy who was expected to be in last place any...
VG charts has 360 at 22 million +
I'm not saying they're super accurate, but they're closer than 4 million off.
If you're a business man, you don't care how many they sell. You care how much money they're making off it.
If they can sell 1 360 a year for 1 billion dollars consistently, that should be just as good as selling 10 million 360s for 2 billion dollars (costs would go up... I assumed $100 costs for each one, which is in no way accurate of what it actually is. Just my assumption for the example).
mohammad ali would beg to differ.
You do realize that if they are lying about all those regions, their shareholders could both sue and leave them.
Not exactly the right response to something designed to impress current/potential shareholders.
when M$ makes a press release it's PR fud.
When sony makes a press release, it's fact to be held as highly as the unaltered word of Jesus.
and they never said so.
from the page summary (didn't even have to click to a different page):
"Platform holder claims victory as it boasts of generating 'double' rival's UK sales since September – and outselling Sony's console in 'key states' across continent."
read after the dash.
what?
Every 360 has the possibility that it will fail, so every 360 is defective?
I'll tell you something. Every PS3, every Wii, every DS, ever PSP, every Ipod, every zune, every car, every dvd player, every bike, every computer, everything has a chance of breaking.
Therefor the world is defective. Joy. let's see if God will extend the warranty...
they all say the exact same tips and tricks. If you want info, go to the NXE official site. You'll already know more than these things tell you
uncharted's textures weren't that good. It had phenomenal visual effects and lighting that made the actual texture quality insignificant, but the textures themselves weren't that exceptional.
